Step 8 – Closeout

The final step is called Closeout and involves looking back on the project for successes and failures.

The last step, the project closeout, when the project is completely finished.

You have to do a database revisions and feedback.

You have to put any notes there especially to justify and explain anything that did not go according to the plan.

You can add notes in Primavera P6, either to the project or to a specific activity. For example, if an activity was supposed to take only 4 days, and it took 10 days, one, later on, would wonder why did this activity take 10 days when it was estimated to take only 4 days, but when you read the notes that the work was halted or stopped because such and such, because underground water, because unexploded bomb, because whatever, they found a dead body, they found anything, then you understand that it is did not take 10 days, but there was a delay.

And again, you have to archive this project after it's completed. Those archived files, you may move them in Primavera to an inactive node. That inactive node will help you organize things better, will not be under the spotlight on a daily basis. But if you need to go back to it, you will be able to go back and activate it.

You have to look at the accessibility and confidentiality issue. And here you have to balance between two attitudes. You can't be too conservative that you give the password only to one person and that person may be injured or g...
