Hi! Welcome back. In this lesson we’ll be creating a new project in Primavera P6. This could be the first step in starting to build a new project schedule and that’s essentially the process we’re going to take you through in this master class. The project we’re going to be creating is a Railcar Maintenance Facility. Essentially it’s an engineering construction projects. Construct a new Railcar Maintenance Facility for our Month company Builder Touch. So if you’re ready, let’s go ahead and go into Primavera and get started.

Let’s get started with creating a new project in primavera. It’s pretty a straightforward approach. Let’s start by going to the file menu and choosing new. You see this pop up window up here and we call this pop up window the “create a new project wizard”. You can see the little icon of the wand, it’s sort of a wizard type approach.

Now creating a new project in Primavera is slightly different than say creating a new spreadsheet in excel or a new word document. Primavera requires us to input some required information before we can get started. This wizard will take us to the required field and I’ll explain them to you as we go through.
