Here's a quick checklist you can use to help you progress Activities in Primavera P6. This video will walk you through the steps, but you can view the check list here as well.
Let's do a quick review I’ve put together a progressing checklist for you here, when more progressing activity is to completion these are the steps that we want to follow, we first check the started checkbox to mark the activity as started, then will input our actual start date, number three we’ll market finished and then we can input our actual finished date.
To review the quick method, and this method accepts all plan dates as actual dates, so we would accept the plan dates there and use those as actual, we can skip some of the clicking and go directly to marking the activity as finished, our in progress activity checklist looks like this, we’ll mark our activity as started, secondly we’ll input our started actual date, then we will indicate our percent complete, and last we’ll input the remaining duration for the activity.
Now I have a note for you, I wanted to tell you that inputting the percent complete value is optional, unless you’re using physical percent complete you don't need to always enter a percent complete, for example if you're using duration percent complete, when you enter a remaining value in step four, the duration percent complete will be calculated for you automatically.
