Are resources hard to configure in Primavera P6? What are the key fields that I need to know about if I’m setting up resources? Those are the questions that we’ll answer in this lesson on Resource Configuration. We’ll take a deep dive into all the different settings for individual resources. And which ones are really important to know and how they should be set. Let’s dive in Primavera and get started.

Let’s get started by introducing you to the Resource Dictionary. On the Directory bar you see the little icon that looks like a man. If you click there that will take you to the Resource Dictionary. The Resource Dictionary is the central place to manage all of the resources in my database. So any resource that I’m using on any project gets administered and set up, managed here in the resource dictionary.

So as you can see we have the possibility to put a lot and a lot and a lot of resources into this area. It can handle a lot, it’s a database, it can handle a lot. As you can imagine, with so many resources, it’s really helpful to be able to organize them in some meaningful way.

So the first thing I want to draw your attention to is the ability to stack resources into hierarchies. So as you can see, we have this kind of hierarchy branching to help me organize resources. So this could be set up any way the people who are administering...
